About The Position

Slifco Electric is a premier electrical contracting firm serving the Automotive, Heavy Industrial, and Mission Critical sectors. We specialize in both ground-up construction and major renovations, managing electrical packages ranging from small service work to multi-million-dollar installations. We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Site Superintendent to manage the labor, coordinate materials and production for electrical construction projects. Provide technical expertise in installing and troubleshooting electrical wiring and equipment. Work cooperatively with the general contractor and/or customer in managing the project, project schedule and employees. Monitor installations and ensure work is performed according to Slifco Electric standards and project specifications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a Superintendent and an additional 3-5 years working as a General Foreman (or similar leadership role)
  • Industrial electrical construction experience (data center preferred)
  • IBEW Journeyman Wireman ticket (required)
  • Strong leadership experience in a union environment
  • Deep knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and installation methods
  • Ability to read blueprints and manage large field teams
  • OSHA 30 (required)
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams), Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Bluebeam

  • NFPA 70E, Fall Protection, Confined Space, CPR/First Aid (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervision of all field production activities
  • Provide assistance to General Foreman/Foreman in planning the job, ordering materials/tools and manpower
  • Work with appropriate Project Managers and Regional Superintendent and/or Director of Field Operations to establish project goals at the beginning of the project and monitor success in reaching those objectives on an ongoing basis
  • Review and monitor labor efficiencies, hours and ratios
  • Project the labor needs for the duration of the project
  • Monitor codes and specifications, installation methods
  • Prepare, review, distribute and/or maintain all required installation documentation
  • Provide leadership and guidance to General Foreman and Foremen
  • Work with the appropriate Project Managers and Regional Superintendents and/or Director of Field Operations to track and monitor material costs, storage, consumed and ordered to identify potential problems while minimizing cost and overruns
  • Achieve productivity objectives by effectively managing and assigning tasks to crew members, while maintaining an accurate labor tracking log and communicating with other key project personnel
  • Utilize a proactive approach to anticipate and resolve potential issues
  • Ensure the proper safety equipment, materials and tools are onsite to perform required work
