Electrical Superintendent - Data Center
About The Position
Align is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee onsite electrical installation for data center construction and infrastructure projects. This individual will lead field teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications. The ideal candidate brings strong electrical construction experience, practical knowledge of power distribution systems, and a proven ability to manage field execution in data centers or other mission-critical environments. This role focuses on electrical power infrastructure, including busway, switchgear, panels, feeders, conduit, grounding, and equipment connections. Structured cabling or telecommunications experience alone does not meet the requirements. This is a full-time, salaried position, full benefits, paid time off, paid training, and performance-based bonuses. This position is based in the Atlanta Metroplex area and will work onsite for local data center projects. Approximately 50% travel outside of the Atlanta area should be expected at times.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of electrical construction experience, including three years in a Superintendent, General Foreman, or comparable field leadership role
- Experience leading electrical work in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or complex industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, equipment installation, conduit, feeders, grounding, and bonding
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and equipment submittals
- Experience supervising crews, coordinating subcontractors, and managing field schedules and resources
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and client relationship skills
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or similar project tools
Nice To Haves
- Journeyman or master electrician license
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience with hyperscale or colocation data centers and white space electrical fit-outs
- Experience working in live facilities and supporting commissioning, shutdowns, and energization
Responsibilities
- Lead daily electrical installation activities, coordinating crews, subcontractors, and vendors
- Plan manpower, materials, equipment, and work sequencing to support project schedules
- Oversee installation of power distribution equipment, busway, RPPs, PDUs, conduit, feeders, grounding, and electrical containment
- Review drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and submittals to guide field execution
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, clients, and other trades to resolve installation conflicts
- Monitor workmanship and progress, addressing deficiencies and schedule risks early
- Maintain daily reports, progress updates, and field documentation; support RFIs, change orders, and as-built updates
- Enforce site safety requirements and approved procedures for shutdowns, tie-ins, and work in operational facilities
- Coordinate inspections and support testing, commissioning, energization readiness, and project turnover
- Manage punch-list completion and ensure installations meet project quality standards
