About The Position

Miller Electric Company is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to join their team for Data Center Construction. The ideal candidate will be motivated, possess leadership skills, and thrive in a team environment. This role involves regular communication with managers, clients, suppliers, and team members. Miller Electric specializes in designing, installing, and maintaining advanced electrical systems, including traditional electrical contracting, security solutions, audio-visual integration, wireless networking, and building management systems.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years' experience on construction projects as an Electrical Superintendent or Electrical General Foreman role (or higher).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control, and the ability to control and supervise minor to mid-sized groups.
  • Good organization, multi-tasking, leadership, and decision-making ability.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
  • Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise activities, determining construction methods, sequencing, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, and work schedules.
  • Train and manage other field staff.
  • Manage the day-to-day construction operations of multiple mid-sized projects simultaneously or a single large/hyper scale project.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining project schedules, planning, monitoring, and reviewing critical path dates and milestone schedules in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Effectively communicate site problems, conflicts, schedules, and quality issues to the Project Manager and owner.
  • Resolve field construction problems.
  • Maintain open communication with subcontractors to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support project activities and schedule.
  • Monitor field staff and subcontractor compliance with the project safety program requirements, ensure weekly safety inspections and toolbox talks are completed, and implement corrective measures.
  • Assist the Safety Department in incident and accident investigations and follow-up.
  • Understand subcontractor scopes and ensure they maintain schedules and quality standards to meet contract requirements.
  • Assist the Project Manager with subcontractor disputes, quality control, and schedule coordination.
  • Ensure work complies with drawings and specifications in collaboration with the Project Manager and owner’s representatives.
  • Support the Project Manager in negotiating claims and changes.
  • Provide input to the Project Manager regarding cost and schedule forecasts.
  • Assist the Project Manager with Change Order review.
  • Perform project close-out and ensure the punch list is completed on time.
  • Mentor Project Associates assigned to the project.
