About The Position

A Superintendent (E9) is the primary jobsite supervisor with operational responsibility for employees involved in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment on small- to mid-sized ground up projects or tenant-finish projects where complex coordination of multiple subordinate supervisors and crews is required. This role involves overseeing and managing all electrical production and related craft workers on electrical construction projects, partnering with project managers on working estimates and take-offs, and laying out work for subordinate supervisors and lead persons. The Superintendent will coordinate with the project manager to ensure material, tools, equipment, information, and appropriate manpower are in place in a timely fashion, establish work schedules and man-loading charts, and interface with representatives of the General Contractor/Owner on day-to-day project scheduling and overall performance issues. They will provide general supervision to subordinate foremen engaged in the installation of electrical feeders, equipment, control and distribution apparatus, lighting fixtures, and related connections and terminations. The role includes monitoring work, directing subordinate supervisors and crews, scheduling work according to job pace and other trades, and handling required office correspondence and administrative paperwork. A key responsibility is assuming overall project safety performance, ensuring compliance with all safety processes and protocols, and ensuring employees are properly trained. The Superintendent will also investigate or assist in investigating and reporting any accident or safety incident involving jobsite employees and perform additional assignments as requested/needed.

Requirements

Advanced knowledge of and experience in all the duties and responsibilities associated with lower-level electrical workers.
Journeyman or Master Electrical License
Current Driver’s License
Must have own reliable transportation
High school graduate, GED or equivalent
6 years or more of commercial/industrial electrical experience

Responsibilities

Coordinate with project manager so that material, tools, equipment, information and appropriate manpower are in the proper place in a timely fashion.
Establish work schedules and man-loading charts.
Interface with representatives of the General Contractor/Owner on day-to-day project scheduling and overall performance issues.
Provide general supervision to subordinate foremen engaged in the installation of electrical feeders; equipment such as pumps, motors, and generators; control and distribution apparatus such as switch gears, relays, and circuit breaker panels; lighting fixtures and outlets; and related connections and terminations.
Monitor work as performed.
Direct subordinate supervisors and crews and schedule work according to the pace of the job and other trades.
Handle or oversee the disposition of required office correspondence and administrative paperwork such as daily reports, time sheets/tickets, safety reports, etc.
Assume responsibility for overall project safety performance.
Ensure compliance with all Southland safety processes and protocols.
Ensure employees are properly trained or instructed in the performance of duties to which assigned.
Investigate or assist in investigating and reporting any accident or safety incident involving jobsite employees.
Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.
