The Electrical Substation Project Engineer is responsible for all aspects of HV/EHV substation design. This role involves leading and coordinating technical aspects of AC power substation projects, developing designs from the scoping phase through detailed design. The engineer will be responsible for key design documents including power single line drawings, plan and elevation drawings, general substation arrangement and layout, and details for high voltage bus, cable, equipment, grounding, and control buildings. The role also includes providing oversight and reviews of deliverables during the proposal process, such as conceptual engineering, Bill of Materials (BOM), technical specifications, vendor quotation support, and technical responses. The Project Engineer will serve as the single point of contact for technical issues for the customer and project manager, coordinating with sourcing and the project team on technical matters to meet project specifications, cost control, and schedule objectives. This includes writing HV equipment specifications, contractor work scopes, evaluating vendor quotations for substation equipment, and interfacing with customers and project team members through final commissioning. The individual will be accountable for team results to deliver a high-quality product on time and within budget.
