About The Position

CESO is seeking an Electrical Staff Engineer II who is proficient in basic engineering practice. This role supports senior design staff in executing projects by performing technical design and calculations, document production, and other necessary project duties to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and consistent with industry standards. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university and 3 or more years of relevant experience is required.
• Master’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering, or similar discipline, can substitute up to 1 year of work experience.
• Intermediate knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, AEC industry, codes and standards is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Prior experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Visual Lighting, SKM Power Tools, and BlueBeam Revu.
• Travel may be up to 25% as directed by supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Learn to communicate design requirements effectively with internal and external design team members, contractors, and equipment sales representatives to determine project scope and feasibility.
• Develop design approaches and concepts with the input and oversight from senior staff.
• Participate in client, company, and industry events to build and maintain professional relationships.
• Develop an understanding of industry standards, technical policies, and company-specific procedures for project execution.
• Perform calculations, design basic engineering system(s), and fulfill other duties as assigned through collaboration and with assistance from experienced design staff.
• Create system layouts, detail drawings, schematics, and schedules using Revit, AutoCAD or other software.
• Model lighting system luminaires (based on photometric calculations), controls, and circuiting for normal and emergency lighting.
• Model power systems circuiting and feeders for receptacles, equipment connections, and power distribution.
• Develop panel loading, service loading, voltage drop, and fault current calculations.
• Model components for telecommunication, fire alarm, security, and lighting protection systems.
• Help prepare and modify studies, plans, reports, specifications, and project designs.
• Assist project managers and design team with project coordination and facilitation between architects, contractors, other engineers, and other team members to determine project scope, feasibility, and equipment needs, and provide operating procedures and technical information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
