About The Position

At EEI, we believe in doing things the right way, with excellence, integrity, and genuine care for our people. As an employee-owned company, our People First culture is rooted in trust, accountability, and shared success. As a Mission Critical Electrical Specialist, you will independently perform the commissioning, testing, and verification of electrical building systems in the field — including power distribution, lighting, wiring, and controls. You will work alongside experienced technical professionals and project stakeholders to ensure critical facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position is ideal for someone with an engineering degree or strong field commissioning experience in mission critical or data center environments who is detail-oriented, accountable, and able to operate independently in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent foundational experience in electrical systems, facilities operations, commissioning, construction, engineering, maintenance, military, or a related technical environment.
  • Proven, hands-on experience commissioning, testing, or maintaining electrical systems in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Working knowledge of power distribution, lighting, wiring, and controls.
  • Proficiency using electrical testing tools and commissioning equipment to test, troubleshoot, and interpret results on site.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and construction specifications.
  • Strong documentation discipline, clear communication, and organizational skills with a collaborative approach to working within a project team.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • CxA, LEED, PMP, or other relevant commissioning or project management certifications.
  • Experience with data centers, mission critical facilities, healthcare facilities, building automation systems, controls integrations, or high-reliability environments.
  • Proficiency with commissioning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prior experience in a field technician, trade, or facilities role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned commissioning testing and verification activities for electrical systems supporting mission-critical facilities and data centers.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems across full-load, no-load, and failure conditions — seeing every issue through to resolution in coordination with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Produce clear, thorough commissioning documentation in accordance with project requirements and client deliverables.
  • Verify installations against design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to confirm systems are ready for safe and reliable operation.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact on-site, communicating project status, technical findings, and recommendations to clients, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Contribute to safe, reliable, and high-quality project execution in a fast-paced mission-critical environment.
