Electrical Services Manager

Talentuition, LLCMenomonee Falls, WI
$85,000 - $95,000Onsite

About The Position

The Electrical Services Manager owns and builds Capital's electrical department. Today the department is a four-technician operation on a $2M annual revenue pace with demand outpacing capacity — a fifth technician is being hired now, and ownership's ambition is $5M and beyond. The Electrical Services Manager is responsible for growing the team, running the department's daily operations — scheduling, parts and materials, quality, and budget — and operating the quoting engine that turns opportunities generated by our in-home sales team into accurately scoped, profitably priced electrical projects. An electrical license is not required for this role: technical scope authority runs through our Master Electrician of Record via a defined quote-review process. What is required is proven service-industry leadership, credible electrical fluency, estimating or quoting experience, and a track record of building teams rather than maintaining them.

Requirements

  • 5+ years leading service-industry field teams (trades, home services, or comparable), with direct responsibility for hiring and building a team — not just inheriting one.
  • Experience quoting or estimating technical work. Electrical estimating strongly preferred; strong HVAC, plumbing, or construction estimating with genuine electrical fluency will be considered.
  • Working electrical knowledge sufficient to scope residential projects credibly — service upgrades, panel work, EV charging, generator installs, remodel wiring — and the judgment to know what requires the Master Electrician's review.
  • Department budget or P&L ownership with demonstrated margin management.
  • Fluency with field-service management platforms (ServiceTitan or comparable), scheduling tools, and performance reporting.
  • Clear written communicator; disciplined about documentation, follow-through, and delivering commitments on time.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical trade background: journeyman experience, electrical estimator, or PM at an electrical contractor.
  • Residential home-services experience, particularly in a call-by-call or in-home sales model.
  • Experience partnering with an in-home sales team on project quoting.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop electricians and apprentices; grow the department to full planned headcount within the first year and maintain an always-active recruiting pipeline thereafter.
  • Hold documented weekly one-on-ones with each team member; maintain training and development plans per technician, coordinating technical mentorship through the Master Electrician.
  • Lead weekly department meetings with a structured agenda: safety, quality, schedule, and performance.
  • Foster a positive, accountable department culture; address performance issues promptly through documented coaching with defined improvement windows.
  • Conduct performance reviews and make compensation recommendations within company frameworks.
  • Own the electrical quoting process end to end: receive opportunities from Comfort Advisors and service technicians, scope the work, price it within company profitability and discount frameworks, and return quotes on SLA — same-day for standard scopes, 24 hours for complex projects.
  • Route complex or high-value scopes through the Master Electrician of Record's technical review before release; maintain the dollar/complexity threshold governing which quotes require sign-off.
  • Track quote volume, turnaround time, close rate, and sold-job margin; coach Comfort Advisors on electrical opportunity identification and accurate field information capture.
  • Support the sales team with technical consultation on in-home opportunities, including occasional customer-facing visits for complex project scoping.
  • Own the department schedule: assign jobs to match technician skill and development needs, protect service capacity, and coordinate daily with the call center on booking flow.
  • Manage parts and materials: scope sold jobs, order accurately, stage jobs so no crew waits on material, process returns, and maintain supplier relationships and account terms.
  • Ensure jobs are documented completely in ServiceTitan — scope, photos, materials, and permits — and that permit and inspection logistics are handled on every job requiring them.
  • Coordinate cross-trade work with the Install and Service departments, including electrical scopes inside HVAC and plumbing projects.
  • Own the department budget: revenue, gross margin, labor utilization, and materials cost.
  • Operate within — and enforce — company pricing, profitability, and discount frameworks.
  • Deliver a weekly department performance report to ownership: revenue vs. budget, sold pipeline, margin, staffing, and quality.
  • Set and enforce workmanship and job-site standards; track callbacks and quality issues to a defined monthly target, with every miss reviewed and coached.
  • Partner with the Master Electrician of Record on code compliance, licensing requirements, and inspection outcomes; ensure all work is performed under appropriate licensure and permits.
  • Maintain safety standards and documentation for all department field work.

Benefits

  • Full benefits
  • PTO
  • monthly performance bonus of up to $15,000 per year tied to department revenue, gross margin, quote performance, and team growth.
