Electrical Service Technician
About The Position
Superior EMP is a growing multi-state contractor with over 20 years of experience providing commercial electrical services. They specialize in electrical service, repairs, and 24/7 emergency response for commercial facilities. The company is seeking a Commercial Electrical Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and install commercial electrical equipment, and provide emergency power hookups. This role involves independently performing service calls, troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, and documenting work order progress. Technicians start their day from home and travel directly to customer jobsites to deliver efficient, high-quality service.
Requirements
- Five or more years of electrical experience in commercial electrical service or construction roles
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and a motor vehicle background check
- Proficient English communication skills required to write reports and emails
- Must be able to work according to safety guidelines, OSHA, and workplace policies
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of and experience with refrigeration control wiring, Ansul systems, and/or HVAC motor control wiring is preferred
Responsibilities
- Electrical diagnosis, maintenance, and installation of various commercial electrical wiring, power, and conduit systems
- Skilled in pulling and terminating wires in control centers, panels, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switchgear, receptacles, switches, and/or raceways
- Proficient in troubleshooting, testing, and repairing emergency generators and temporary power systems, including automatic transfer switches and/or power distribution systems
- Ability to work independently from blueprints, sketches, and schematic drawings
- Provide informative customer service regarding the nature of electrical repairs
- Operate company vehicles in accordance with department policies
- Proficient in the use of cell phone communication, GPS, and electronic documentation technology
- Submit service paperwork and reports as required by department policy
- Willingness to take on additional duties as needed to support the department
