About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Electrical Service Engineer- EE Systems Fleet Support (Associate or Experienced) to join their team in Seal Beach, CA. As an Electrical Service Engineer, you will resolve real-time technical problems and issues for airline operators such as responding to general systems inquiries, responding to short/medium-term avionics/electrical related problem reports, investigating long-term issues, and providing proactive fleet guidance. Provide technical analysis on design and compliance requirements that address Safety Related Problems (SRP) and support Continued Operational Safety Program (COSP) projects. Boeing Customer Support operates on a 24/7/365 basis. Employees must be willing to work flexible hours and/or non-standard shifts to support our fleets. International and domestic travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2+ years of engineering experience
  • Able and willing to work off shift (24/7/365-day operation. Saturday and Sunday may be required workdays)

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of engineering experience
  • Willing and able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally
  • Experience with Electromagnetic Effects (EME) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)
  • Experience with Electrical equipment installation and wire routing design
  • Experience with design tools such as ENOVIA, CATIA V5, WIRS, PDM and IVT would be preferred
  • Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical, design and informational support for production, product support or in-service aircraft issues.
  • Troubleshoot system problems consistent with operational protocols.
  • Support, create, and provide basic technical documentation (e.g. Fleet Team Digest articles, Service Letters, Drawings, Specifications, documents, data sets, design folders, test requirements documents, manuals).
  • Coordinate with operators to recover Airplane on Ground (AOG) situations, which sometimes requires working over the phone to troubleshoot an airplane in different time zones, or travel onsite to the airplane location and work with technicians to return the grounded airplane back to service.
  • Support technical design, analysis, and production by reviewing documentation, participating in design reviews, and observing tests and audits to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with the investigation of problems to provide engineering solutions and interim actions
  • Support and/or lead the research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non-conformances.
  • Assist in the development of customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Evaluate complex system event reports to determine potential safety issues.
  • Ensure that all tasks completed are using the latest Boeing tools, technology, data analytics, and real-time fleet monitoring data.
  • Travel to airline customer meetings and lead presentations that address complex technical issues.
