Part-Time Electrical Safety Instructor - Up to 15 hours per week
About The Position
Connexus Energy is seeking multiple part-time Electrical Safety Instructors to deliver impactful safety demonstrations to diverse community groups, including students, construction workers, and emergency personnel. The role involves showcasing the dangers of unsafe practices near power lines using established training materials and techniques. This position offers a rewarding opportunity for community service and supplemental income, ideal for teachers or former lineworkers, particularly during summer months and weekends. The role requires a flexible schedule to meet audience demands, with potential for varying hours from week to week, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
Requirements
- Associates degree OR 2 years' experience in electrical, teaching, training, sales, or safety
- Comfortable speaking/presenting to groups (2nd grade up to senior citizens)
- Knowledge of electrical safety principles and practices
- Ability to perform light maintenance on trailer with use of simple tools
- Valid Driver's License and health card
- Ability to successfully meet the Physical Abilities requirements: Stand and talk for long periods of time, Set up equipment used in demonstrations, Push/pull up to 75 lbs, Lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- Successfully completing a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Responsibilities
- Present electrical safety programs to various audiences
- Promote a strong public image for Connexus Energy
- Promote practice of electrical safety at home and at work
- Administer feedback surveys
- Assist with light maintenance of equipment
- Perform simple troubleshooting due to scheduling issues
