This RF Specialist position involves calibrating higher-level, precise equipment and equipment across a minimum of three disciplines, or possessing expert-level knowledge in one to two disciplines. Extensive knowledge of RF and Electrical Metrology is required.

Requirements

  • Highly skilled in metrology in the RF discipline along with Electrical metrology experience, also Machinal experience is an asset.
  • Experience in calibration of RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and attenuators, etc.
  • Willing to perform extensive calibrations at customer sites is mandatory.
  • Minimum 2-year college diploma from college or technical school, and 5 plus years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Machinal experience is an asset.
  • Experience in calibration of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi-meters, thermometers is an asset.
  • Experience of calibration test equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and torque wrenches is an asset.
  • Experience with calibration of test equipment such as temperature chambers, PRT’s, thermocouples and is an asset.
  • Experience with repair and troubleshooting skills is an asset.
  • Experience with 17025 accreditation is an asset.
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering Degree 4 years, plus 5 years of RF Metrology experience.
  • Previous experience or training in electronics or machining.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing calibration services for test equipment primarily in the field of RF and Electrical metrology field, with some mechanical calibrations as well (i.e. hand tools).
  • Lead other technicians within a lab environment to keep calibrations on time and the customer turnaround time at an industry standard.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques in multiple metrology disciplines.
  • Maintain calibration standards.
  • Perform calibration work within a laboratory setting and/or while supervised at a customer on-site.
  • Must be able to obtain Security Clearance and Controlled Goods Program Officer.
  • Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards.
  • Model the Company’s values to influence others to perform in an aligned manner.
  • Ensure training and development plans are in place and communicated to employees to drive performance improvement and career progression.
  • Complete and deliver accurate, thorough, and prescriptive employee performance reviews on the required timeline.
