About The Position

The R&D Electrical Technician will be someone with a solid baseline of experience in electrical fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting. They will have had experience in an R&D environment beyond just circuit board work. They will be experienced in working on high voltage and large electrical equipment and will have a demonstrated knowledge of electrical safety. We are searching for a well-organized, reliable technician to join our growing team.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years electro-mechanical technician experience
  • Demonstrated hands on ability to visually detect electrical defects/non-conformances of materials, determine solutions, and repair them in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using hand tools (drivers, saws, wire crimpers, etc.)
  • Demonstrated technical computer system knowledge (office suites, Terminal/Command line, managing files, etc.)
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills demonstrated in a team environment
  • Conduct mechanical inspections of deployed units, documenting condition information for use by our team for debugging or troubleshooting
  • Installing heavy equipment with high voltage and working outdoors
  • Demonstrated ability to build electrical enclosures with limited documentation
  • Capable of software deployment and electrical box configuration

  • Vocational certificate or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and safely transport heavy electrical cables, conduit, and tools to and from job sites
  • Measure, cut, and pull thick, heavy-duty electrical cables and wiring
  • Set up job sites, stage equipment, and ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and free of hazards
  • Repairing and qualifying electronics, inverters, load banks
  • Building enclosure for electrical power systems with electrical engineers, following work instructions
  • Run software, as well as set up hardware and use browser based apps to perform tests and run equipment and troubleshoot with various levels of documentation
