About The Position

Provides quality assurance inspections for electrical manufacturing. This role progressively ensures efficiency in quality and customer service/satisfaction. The inspector performs a variety of routine to complex inspections for incoming, in-process, and final assemblies to ensure compliance with documentation, process standards, and/or customer requirements. The position requires proficiency in interpreting configured drawings, bill of materials lists, quality control specifications, contractual requirements, technical data packages, tech manuals, and oral/written instructions. The inspector will use calibrated inspection measurement tools and various web-based systems for document management, storage, and project scheduling. Responsibilities include generating Nonconformance Reports, Corrective Actions, and contributing to continual improvement. The ability to inspect printed circuit boards and cable/wiring harnesses to specific industry standards is essential. The role also involves preparing reports and maintaining records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in Electrical Quality Assurance inspection.
  • Knowledgeable experience in prototyping and agile manufacturing industry.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001/AS9100 quality system environment.
  • Knowledge of IPC J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies) and WHMA-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) Standards.
  • Knowledge of ANSI/ESD S20.20 (Standard for Development of an ESD Control Program) ESD controlled environment, and requirements for work environment safety.
  • Must have been or currently accredited in IPC J-STD-001 and WHMA-A-620.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices.
  • Ability to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 25 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.

  • Utilizes web-based SharePoint, Deltek CostPoint, Tyonek One, and Cognos for document management and storage.
  • Utilizes web-based Smartsheet as a work management plan for project scheduling.

  • Inspects printed circuit boards to J-STD-001 and Cable/Wiring Harnesses to IPC-WHMA-A 620 or as required by Customer requirements.
  • Prepares reports and maintains records.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
