This position is a W2 contract employee role with ASI for a defined project period, offering the stability of W2 employment along with access to benefits while you support our autonomous technology programs. As an Electrical Engineer at ASI, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and testing electrical systems for autonomous vehicles. This role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, communication with customers and team members, and expertise in integrating low-level vehicle control systems. Your work will directly contribute to the advancement of autonomous vehicle technology by designing robust electrical systems that enhance vehicle performance, safety, and reliability. You will be involved in every stage of the development process, from research and design to testing and field implementation, ensuring ASI remains at the forefront of autonomous innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in software/firmware design, including C programming and visual programming languages like LabVIEW.
  • Strong understanding of CAN bus protocol and experience integrating vehicle control systems.
  • Experience with electrical design tools and test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex technical data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical components, wire harnesses, and systems for autonomous vehicles.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical systems to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize vehicle control systems.
  • Utilize engineering tools such as ALTIUM Designer, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers for design and testing.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies to enhance design and development processes.
  • Travel up to 10-15% for field testing and system implementation.
