About The Position

Southland is standing up a new electrical contracting division focused on hyperscale data center and industrial clients across North America. We're looking for an experienced Electrical Project Manager based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to help lead project execution for this new business line from the ground up. This is a high-visibility opportunity to shape processes, teams, and client relationships as the division scales.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience in electrical construction, with direct experience managing commercial, industrial, or mission-critical (data center) projects
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Texas electrical licensing/permitting requirements (TDLR familiarity a plus)
  • Proven track record managing project budgets, schedules, and subcontractor relationships on projects of significant scale
  • Experience working directly with hyperscale, industrial, or large commercial ownership groups preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools (Procore, MS Project, or similar)
  • Strong communication and client-management skills; comfortable operating in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across the DFW area and, as the division grows, other regions

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end project management for electrical construction projects, from preconstruction through closeout, with a focus on mission-critical and industrial facilities (data centers, substations, large industrial/manufacturing sites)
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and staffing plans; track cost performance and forecast to completion
  • Serve as primary client-facing point of contact, managing expectations, change orders, and overall project relationships with hyperscale and industrial clients
  • Coordinate closely with the division's Qualifying Party/Master Electrician and field superintendents to ensure code compliance, safety, and quality standards are met on every project
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships, including scope negotiation, procurement, and performance oversight
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and RFIs; drive resolution of design and constructability issues
  • Lead project meetings, produce owner/client reporting, and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Partner with estimating and business development on pursuits, proposals, and scope development for new work
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and all applicable local/state electrical codes and permitting requirements
  • Mentor project engineers and support staff as the division builds out its team
