Electrical Project Manager – Data Center Construction

About The Position

We are working confidentially with a General Contractor delivering a major data center project in the Mobile, Alabama area and are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join the project team. This is a full-time, site-based position. Recent data center construction experience is essential. The Electrical Project Manager will take ownership of the electrical scope across the project, working closely with Superintendents, electrical subcontractors, engineers and project leadership to ensure delivery is safe, coordinated and on schedule.

Requirements

  • Recent data center or mission critical construction experience is essential
  • Strong General Contractor or Construction Manager background
  • Experience managing electrical packages on large-scale ground-up projects
  • Strong knowledge of medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems
  • Experience with switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems and power distribution
  • Experience managing subcontractors, RFIs, submittals and change orders
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and MEP coordination
  • Experience with budgets, schedules, procurement and project controls
  • Experience supporting energization, commissioning and turnover
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work full-time on site in the Mobile, Alabama area
  • Candidates must have recent data center construction experience and a strong electrical project management background.

Responsibilities

  • Managing electrical construction packages from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout
  • Overseeing medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems
  • Managing electrical subcontractors and trade partners
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, RFIs and submittals
  • Managing change orders, procurement and project documentation
  • Coordinating electrical works with mechanical, structural, controls and commissioning teams
  • Tracking schedules, budgets and package-level progress
  • Identifying sequencing, constructability and coordination issues
  • Supporting procurement and long-lead equipment planning
  • Managing installation of switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems and electrical distribution equipment
  • Coordinating energization, startup, testing and commissioning activities
  • Ensuring work meets quality, safety and project requirements
  • Supporting punch list, closeout and final turnover documentation
  • Working closely with Project Executives, Superintendents, engineers and subcontractors
