About The Position

The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for ensuring projects achieve financial goals, meet schedules, and maximize customer satisfaction. This role involves completing financial reporting, assisting in managing cash flow, and ensuring the safety of team members and customers. The position requires strong leadership, project management, and communication skills, with a focus on profitability and integrity.

  • 2+ years as a PE with a bachelor’s degree focused on construction management OR 4+ years as a PE with a career path working through the ranks as an Electrician (experience must be in commercial electrical construction projects)
  • Experience with organizing the appropriate data for key leadership decision making
  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk for long hours when working in the office
  • Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity equipment
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds as needed in routine activities associated with position
  • Ability to wear PPE when working/visiting a project location
  • Ability to work in extreme heat when working/visiting a project location
  • Ability to move safely over uneven terrain when working/visiting a project location

Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects achieve financial goals by performing scope and cost analysis, identifying cost savings, and ensuring all change orders are captured.
  • Manage direct reports to ensure team goals are achieved by providing feedback, coaching, identifying training needs, and helping team members solve problems.
  • Ensure project schedules are met by reviewing contract plans and documents, and ensuring Project Engineers are tracking their projects.
  • Maximize customer satisfaction by maintaining effective relations with the Owner and General Contractor, communicating immediately about schedule and budget changes, and ensuring resolution of conflicts.
  • Complete financial reporting by verifying job costing information, ensuring estimates remain accurate, and performing cost to complete analysis monthly.
  • Assist in managing company cash flow by creating and submitting change orders, following up with clients for processing, ensuring timely billing, and monitoring subcontractor billings.
  • Ensure the safety of team members and customers by making safety a priority, identifying and addressing safety violations, and using them as teaching tools.
  • Perform other tasks associated with project completion, including verifying material quantities, code compliance, value engineering, subcontractor quotes and contracts, design modification consulting, and monitoring supplier performance.
