About The Position

The position is responsible for overseeing electrical projects from inception to completion while ensuring accurate cost estimation and budget management. This dual role involves planning, coordinating, and executing projects, managing teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The individual will also prepare competitive bids by analyzing project requirements, interpreting blueprints, and sourcing cost-effective materials and labor. Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills are essential to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining client satisfaction. By combining expertise in both project management and estimating, this dual role ensures projects are not only accurately budgeted but also executed efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Highschool or equivalent.
  • 2+ years professional Electrical Project management / Estimating work experience.
  • Electrical Project management / Estimating work experience in residential/commercial/industrial.
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent writing, communication, listening, and inter-personal skills, including ability to work closely with executives, managers, co-workers, and outside contacts.
  • Use of proper grammar, spelling, vocabulary; editing/proofreading skills.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing information.
  • Possess strong analytical skills in order to review, evaluate, and synthesize information.
  • Superior organizational and information management skills, as well as time management.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality, integrity, and tact in dealing with sensitive information.
  • Problem solving and demonstrating initiative to improve process, procedures, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project timelines, budgets, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers, to define project objectives.
  • Lead and oversee electrical project teams, including engineers, electricians, and subcontractors.
  • Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams.
  • Facilitate communication between various departments to ensure alignment.
  • Ensure all electrical work adheres to local codes, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections and address any non-compliance issues.
  • Track project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Resolve any issues or delays that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, permits, and change orders.
  • Prepare and submit reports on project status and outcomes.
  • Analyze project requirements to estimate labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • Prepare detailed and competitive bid proposals based on project specifications.
  • Review architectural and electrical plans to determine project scope.
  • Identify potential challenges or additional costs in project designs.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to determine cost-effective solutions.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Factor contingencies into cost estimates to accommodate unforeseen challenges.
  • Work closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure estimates align with project goals.
  • Present estimates and justifications to clients and internal teams.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and labor rates.
  • Adjust estimating practices based on market conditions and project complexity.
