R&P is looking for a motivated mid-level Electrical Power Controls Engineer to join their team. R&P is a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. This role requires a journeyman Electrical Power Engineer who is also a Machinery Controls Engineer. The Electrical Power Controls Engineer will support the design, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment of electrical control systems and power distribution architectures for U.S. Navy ship programs. The focus is on PLC/HMI programming, automation, control logic development, system integration, and technical support for mission-critical electrical power systems. This position will support shipboard electric plant and integrated power system control activities for BBG (X) class ships, including PLC/HMI development, control logic troubleshooting, interface testing, system integration, and technical documentation for Navy laboratories, shipyards, land-based test sites, and shipboard environments. Engineering services will be provided in and around the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Philadelphia. A hybrid/remote work schedule can be acceptable during certain design phases.
