About The Position

Jo-Kell is seeking an Electrical Panel Technician Intern to join our electrical panel shop team in Pompano Beach. This is a hands-on technical internship designed for a student or early-career individual interested in electrical technology, engineering technology, industrial systems, or a related technical field. You will gain practical experience working with custom electrical control panels alongside our engineering and production teams. This internship provides the opportunity to develop real-world skills in electrical assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and interpreting technical drawings. We are looking for someone with strong mechanical or electrical aptitude, attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and an interest in applying technical concepts in a hands-on environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed technical education in electrical technology, engineering technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and enjoy working with your hands
  • Interested in learning to read and work from electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Comfortable using, or willing to learn to use, common hand and power tools
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and take pride in producing accurate work
  • Curious, dependable, and receptive to instruction and feedback
  • Can follow instructions while becoming increasingly independent as your skills develop
  • Work effectively with engineers, technicians, and other team members

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hands-on experience through coursework, labs, technical school, military training, personal projects, robotics, electronics, automotive work, or a related trade is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the assembly and wiring of custom electrical control panels
  • Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Perform point-to-point wiring, component installation, and electrical terminations with appropriate guidance
  • Assist with panel layout, assembly, testing, and quality inspections
  • Develop basic troubleshooting skills for wiring, component, and assembly issues
  • Learn how completed assemblies are verified against engineering drawings and specifications
  • Work with engineering and production team members to understand how designs move from drawings to finished products
  • Safely and effectively use common hand and power tools
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and productive work area
  • Support other engineering and panel shop activities as needed
