About The Position

Black & McDonald’s Southern Ontario Service team is growing! Reporting to the Service Operations Manager, the Electrical Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading and growing a team of professional electricians and electrical service technicians. This position supports the delivery of electrical maintenance, service, troubleshooting, emergency response, and small project work to our client base while assisting with the development of business opportunities through collaboration with the business development team and other trade supervisors.

Requirements

  • Understanding of industrial, commercial, and institutional electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of OESC, ESA requirements, and applicable CSA standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • 10+ years in electrical service, construction, maintenance, or facilities operations.
  • 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician License required.
  • Experience leading people in a trade environment.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience estimating and managing electrical service work.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to obtain Reliability Status Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • 442A Industrial Electrician License considered an asset.
  • Master Electrician designation considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise forepersons, electricians, apprentices, and service technicians.
  • Assist in quoting service calls and small electrical projects.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections.
  • Maintain client relationships and resolve concerns.
  • Support development of apprentices and technicians.
  • Coordinate daily work activities for electrical service technicians.
  • Provide technical support for service calls, PMs, emergency repairs, and small projects.
  • Support work involving power distribution, lighting, generators, UPS systems, fire alarm systems, and controls.
  • Ensure standards for safe working conditions are enforced.
