Requirements

  • BS/MS in Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering with 5-7+ years of experience in NPI engineering, specifically in Advanced SMT and High-Layer-Count PCB assembly (30+ layers preferred).
  • Strong background in circuit debugging, troubleshooting, failure/root cause analysis, and 8D methodology.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Design for Excellence (DFx), including DFM, DFR, DFT, DFC, and DFQ.
  • Proficiency with PLM systems (e.g., Propel, Agile) to manage ECO/MCO/DEV/PCN processes.
  • Experience managing product lifecycles from prototype to end-of-life, including BOM risk assessment, second sourcing, and component qualification.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical mentorship to manufacturing/debug teams and collaborate effectively across functions (e.g., Engineering, Marketing, TAC, and CM Partners).
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to drive continuous improvement in yield, cost, and quality.

Nice To Haves

  • PCA Design/Layout experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive PCA designs, resolving DFM issues for SMT and system integration.
  • Optimize high-layer count PCB manufacturing and BGA assembly.
  • Lead process validation, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
  • Manage NPI lifecycles from prototype to full production.
  • Manage ECOs and version control via PLM systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in yield, cost, and quality.
  • Develop SMT/PCB assembly best practices per IPC standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with the supply chain for inventory efficiency.
