ADSW Electrical Missile Architecture Engineer Sr Staff

Lockheed MartinOrlando, FL
Onsite

About The Position

You will be the Electrical Missile Architect for the Air Dominance Strike Weapons (ADSW) team. Our team designs, develops, and fields next generation strike missiles, delivering affordable, producible solutions that meet exacting performance, integration and survivability requirements across the full mission envelope. As the Electrical Missile Architect you will lead a multidisciplinary engineering group—including electrical, mechanical, structures, lethality, propulsion, thermal, materials, processes and environments—to define and validate the missile’s system level electrical architecture. You will provide day to day technical direction, coordinate subsystem integration, and partner with business development, program planning, verification and customer representatives to keep the program on schedule and on budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline (MS preferred).
  • Minimum 5-years of electrical engineering experience emphasizing system architecture, requirements development, and trade‑study execution for missile or aerospace programs.
  • Proficiency in circuit analysis, high‑frequency electronics, and electromagnetics.
  • Familiarity with MIL‑STD‑461, MIL‑STD‑704, and other applicable DoD/air‑domain specifications.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
  • A Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years is required to start.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with MOSA (Modular Open Systems Architecture) and WOSA (Weapon Open Systems Architecture) concepts applied to missile electrical subsystems.
  • Familiarity with Model-based System Engineering
  • Skilled in Excel and MATLAB for quantitative trade studies.
  • Previous Missile Experience
  • Previous ADSW experience

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain high level architecture artifacts (functional block diagrams, interface control documents, wiring harness schematics, configuration baselines).
  • Define, refine, and trace electrical related system requirements (performance, interface, power, thermal, EMC) throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead quantitative trade study analyses of alternate power distribution topologies, sensor/actuator placements, and electromagnetic shielding concepts; deliver recommendation reports for senior decision makers.
  • Collaborate with Systems, Software, Avionics, Propulsion and Test engineering to verify that electrical designs satisfy functional, mechanical and environmental constraints; actively participate in SRR, PDR, CDR, DVT and other design reviews.
  • Assist test engineers in developing electrical test plans, designing test fixtures, and analyzing data to close requirements gaps.
  • Produce and maintain technical deliverables—architecture overviews, requirements documents, trade study reports, and configuration management records—in accordance with program standards.
  • Ensure all electrical designs comply with applicable military standards (e.g., MIL STD 461, MIL STD 704, MIL STD 1275) and ADSW specific specifications.
