About The Position

The Maintenance Electrical/Mechanical Technician will perform common maintenance and repairs for production equipment and facility related assets. This technician will be required to apply advanced troubleshooting skills for both electrical and mechanical assemblies. A deep understanding of electrical systems, from 480v to control voltage, is necessary for this position.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of experience in an industrial maintenance capacity preferred.
  • Mandatory ability to speak, understand, read and write in English.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer literate with intermediate skills in Excel.
  • Must be able to make decisions on routine matters utilizing company policies and procedures and directions from upper management.
  • Regularly required to move about the facility, standing/walking on concrete floors up to 12 hours per day, 6 days per week.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to sit, use hand to finger coordination; handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Standing, stooping, walking, bending, and climbing are all expected physical abilities, with or without accommodations.

Nice To Haves

  • Food or Medical plant experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with GMP, and food manufacturing best practices.
  • Advanced knowledge/skills with forklifts, scissor lifts and electric pallet jacks preferred.
  • Ammonia Refrigeration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and workorders to perform required maintenance.
  • Provide emergency repairs on production equipment to keep the facility operational.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including replacement of failed components such as bearings, belts, motors, power/control lines, etc.
  • Diagnose problems and failures, and repair or replace parts as required.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machines and components using specifications and/or blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools.
  • Adjust various types of devices and control systems.
  • Understand systems, and component functions with their respective relationships to one another.
  • Possess a working knowledge of facility related systems.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including 480v and below.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair control voltage systems.
  • Safely and effectively diagnose, isolate, and repair electrical faults in industrial equipment and systems.
  • Utilize electrical drawings, schematics, and test instruments (such as multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers) to identify root causes of issues.
  • Follow proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safety procedures at all times.
  • Communicate findings clearly and complete repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Complete required physical and digital paperwork.
  • Basic hydraulics/pneumatics experience.
  • Ammonia Refrigeration experience preferred.
  • Experience in a fast paced, cold, wet production environment.
  • Collaborate well with Production with a strong customer service mindset.
