About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Electrical/Mechanical Engineer to support long-term asset planning for one of our clients in Newfoundland and Labrador. In this role, you will work as an embedded member of a Long Term Asset Planning team. Responsibilities include contributing to the development and continuous improvement of long-term capital and operating plans for assets, supporting asset management initiatives and capital projects, and providing technical support to ensure the reliable and cost effective operation of production systems. You will also contribute to developing capital budget estimates, preparing scope documents, providing technical support, preparing work packages, supporting condition assessments, and assisting with the development of technical specifications, engineering standards, and engineering directives to ensure best practices are followed. This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an anticipated start date of June 15, 2026, and an end date of June 11, 2027. Work will be based in St. John's, NL, with travel within Newfoundland and Labrador as required. Please note that we are accepting resumes for this role on behalf of one of our clients. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering
  • Eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers (P.Eng.) with PEGNL
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, preferably within a utility or hydroelectric generation environment
  • Experience developing engineering estimates, scope documents, and supporting capital project execution.
  • Experience in the development and management of engineering consultants and construction contracts.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Valid Canadian driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract required
  • Criminal record check required
  • Education and professional designation verification required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in maintenance tactic implementation and troubleshooting would be considered an asset.
  • Asset management certifications (e.g., CAMP, MMP) or similar would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of long term asset plans.
  • Support asset management initiatives (such as preventive maintenance optimization, and contributing to the development and execution of capital projects).
