About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering department is a combination of product design and process improvement. This position will be responsible for creating new hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic schematics to reduce installation time, increase build quality and prevent future warranty claims. This position will also require the associate to review current hyd, elec, and pneu parts and system designs for function and integration into the current production line to help streamline production processes to reduce build time and increase quality by removing waste from the process.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Ability to read and comprehend part drawings and wiring or hydraulic schematics.
  • Ability to produce schematics.
  • Microsoft Office software – especially Excel and Word
  • Ability to read and interpret documents; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must also possess the ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of engineering experience in manufacturing environment or,
  • Two (2) years of engineering experience in automotive design related field or,
  • Two (2) years of engineering experience in vocational truck assembly.
  • Ability to identify complex build challenges and implement solutions quickly and correctly.
  • Ability to understand 12V electrical systems.
  • Ability to understand hydraulic plumbing systems.
  • Mechanical skills / experience with heavy trucks and heavy equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Research, Develop and Test new products and systems layouts.
  • Create detailed schematics of Hydraulic, Electrical, and Pneumatic systems.
  • Create standards necessary to implement new products and designs across multiple product lines.
  • Integrate customer specifications with machine requirements and chassis requirements.
  • Work with materials team to ensure parts are ordered and delivered on time to production.
  • Analyze current production processes to find waste in the process.
  • Formulate with team members a process to reduce found waste.
  • Work with chassis procurement team to implement measures that will decrease production time.
  • Any other assignments as required.
