Oaknoll Retirement Residence is seeking a full-time Electrician to join our team! The qualified candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, or replacement of electrical equipment throughout Oaknoll, and will ensure compliance with safety codes. Maintenance, repair, or replacement will include, but is not limited to, wires, cables, switches, receptacles, outlets, fuses, circuit breakers, and fixtures. Work will only inlcude existing infrastructure, and will not include any new installation or expansion of any circuit, or any other work that legally requires a licensed electrician. Additional job duties will include, but are not limited too; assisting with moving residents' belongings when they change apartments or levels of care as requested, helping to clear snow as necessary, and assisting with other general maintenance tasks. Scheduled hours will be 8am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday, and a weekend of on-call maintenance approximately every 6 weeks. Some holidays and weekends will be required.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in commercial/industrial/residential electrical maintenance
  • A valid Iowa driver's license and willingness to provide a certified driving record
  • Demonstrate knowledge of electrical diagrams and blueprints
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs regularly
  • Physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
  • Able to tactfully respond to staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, repair, or replacement of electrical equipment throughout Oaknoll
