An Equipment Reliability Engineer provides support to the Production and Maintenance organizations for the operation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. The Equipment Engineer will be involved in assisting with new equipment specifications, checkouts, installations, maintaining equipment documentation files, developing and maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance procedures; leading complex troubleshooting activities related to breakdowns and other reliability or throughput issues; assuring compliance with Health & Safety and other regulatory requirements; assessing risk and executing projects to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and uptime. This engineering role is hands-on, with regular direct interaction with skilled craft.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited university in Engineering or Physics
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
  • United States Citizenship
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

  • Demonstrated analytical skills, mathematical computations, computer software applications, and written documentation.
  • Demonstrated established technical methodologies to routine engineering projects.
  • Ability to analyze engineering drawings and specifications to develop effective acceptance processes and improve existing processes.
  • Familiarization with GD&T Concepts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine problems and determine root cause and appropriate corrective action for machine breakdowns.
  • Experience working with complex machines and their installation, repair, and upgrade.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance, manage projects, provide consultative services, perform risk assessment and participate in innovative manufacturing solutions.
  • Experience with various types of automated equipment controls including PC, PLC and CNC controlled equipment.
  • Understanding electrical theory, circuits, and hardware applications.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and logic sequences.
  • Experience in predictive maintenance technologies and health monitoring connectivity of equipment; aiding in faster troubleshooting, reduction in downtime, and support planned maintenance by catching failures before they happen.

Responsibilities
