Electrical Maintenance Apprentice
About The Position
Schaeffler Aerospace USA Corp. is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Apprentice to join its Connecticut Registered Apprenticeship Program supporting aerospace manufacturing operations. This role combines paid on-the-job learning (OJL) with related technical instruction (RTI) to develop the skills needed for a career in industrial electrical maintenance. Working alongside experienced maintenance professionals, apprentices will build the knowledge and hands-on experience required to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment and automated systems within a precision aerospace manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude with an interest in industrial maintenance
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Strong work ethic, curiosity, and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Enrollment in and successful completion of an approved electrical maintenance or industrial electrical technology program through a partner institution (such as Lincoln Technical Institute or Porter and Chester Institute) is a condition of employment
- External applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
Responsibilities
- Participate in a structured apprenticeship program combining classroom and on-the-job training
- Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and automated manufacturing equipment
- Learn electrical theory, industrial controls, motors, sensors, PLCs, and preventive maintenance practices
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Follow established safety, quality, and maintenance standards
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and continuous development
