About The Position

Schaeffler Aerospace USA Corp. is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Apprentice to join its Connecticut Registered Apprenticeship Program supporting aerospace manufacturing operations. This role combines paid on-the-job learning (OJL) with related technical instruction (RTI) to develop the skills needed for a career in industrial electrical maintenance. Working alongside experienced maintenance professionals, apprentices will build the knowledge and hands-on experience required to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment and automated systems within a precision aerospace manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude with an interest in industrial maintenance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
  • Strong work ethic, curiosity, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Enrollment in and successful completion of an approved electrical maintenance or industrial electrical technology program through a partner institution (such as Lincoln Technical Institute or Porter and Chester Institute) is a condition of employment
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured apprenticeship program combining classroom and on-the-job training
  • Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and automated manufacturing equipment
  • Learn electrical theory, industrial controls, motors, sensors, PLCs, and preventive maintenance practices
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Follow established safety, quality, and maintenance standards
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and continuous development
