About The Position

BILT Incorporated is seeking a licensed Nigerian electrician to adapt its existing US-based electrical workforce curriculum for the Nigerian market. This role involves reviewing and localizing instructional content, ensuring technical accuracy, procedural compliance, and appropriate terminology according to Nigerian standards and codes. The Subject Matter Expert will collaborate with the content design team, validate content against local codes, and sign off on the localized projects to ensure they are usable by Nigerian technicians. Teaching experience is considered a plus.

Requirements

  • Current NEMSA certification as electrical installation personnel/contractor (Category B or higher), or an equivalent recognized Nigerian credential (e.g., NABTEB or ITF trade certification, or COREN-registered engineering technician)
  • Approximately 5–10 years of hands-on electrical field experience in Nigeria
  • Working knowledge of the Nigerian Electricity Supply and Installation Standards Regulations (NESIS), the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), SON/NIS standards, and applicable local permitting and inspection practice
  • Ability to read US-based technical content and identify where it diverges from Nigerian code, materials, and field practice
  • Ability to explain complex procedures clearly to someone who has never seen the equipment before; strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Comfortable working remotely with a US-based team, in a fast-moving environment with evolving scope and tight timelines
  • Willingness to execute an NDA and to assign all work product to BILT as sole Intellectual Property

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reviewing or creating technical documentation is a plus
  • Teaching, training, or workforce development experience is a meaningful plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert for the Nigerian localization of nine (9) existing BILT electrical projects originally built on US NCCER standards and the US National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Localize technical information, step-by-step outlines, instructions and on-screen text, diagrams, code citations, and terminology so each project is accurate and compliant for Nigeria
  • Replace NEC references with the correct citations from the Nigerian Electricity Supply and Installation Standards Regulations (NESIS) and the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) referenced therein, and align procedures with Nigerian standards and common field practice
  • Provide SME technical guidance and feedback to BILT content designers throughout the localization cycle
  • Participate in quality control review and sign off on each localized product
  • Flag gaps, inaccuracies, or US-specific assumptions in the source content — materials, voltages, wiring conventions, tooling, and safety protocols — and advise on the correct local equivalent
  • Consult BILT with industry knowledge and participate in relevant strategy and business-plan conversations
  • Store all documentation, drawings, videos, recordings, and transcripts in the designated shared folder and hand off deliverables per mutually agreed goals and timelines
