About The Position

Constellation is seeking an Electrical Lab Technician to perform equipment calibrations, testing, and analysis. This role involves using recognized methodologies, industry standards, and technical expertise. The position can be filled at either the Lab Tech II or Lab Tech III level, with the latter involving additional responsibilities for developing processes, providing technical support, mentoring, and training junior technicians. The role requires the ability to interact with clients and vendors, process vendor calibrations, perform maintenance and repair of equipment, and potentially travel regionally for onsite calibrations and testing. A key aspect of the role is ensuring accurate test reports and maintaining calibration of testing and analytical equipment.

Requirements

  • Associates degree, or 60 credits toward a BS degree in a technical field, or PMEL training (no experience required), or a high school degree plus four years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated aptitude in: chemical, electrical, mechanical or metallurgical testing, analysis or calibrations or basic engineering principles
  • Ability to gain unescorted access to Constellation Nuclear Stations
  • Good oral and written communication skill

Nice To Haves

  • Nuclear power plant experience or Radiation Protection experience
  • Metrology or related education via vocational technology (VoTech), military or Associate's degree in technical area
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical equipment issues.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory, motors, protective relays, and associated control circuits.
  • Skilled in the operation of electrical test instruments and the interpretation of test data to evaluate equipment condition, performance, and compliance with technical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all levels of equipment calibrations and/or testing and analysis using recognized methodologies, industry standards, and technical experience.
  • Develop processes for and perform complex calibrations of measuring & test equipment and/or tests and analysis of plant components, systems, and parts.
  • Provide technical support, mentoring, and training of Lab Tech I and Lab Tech II technicians.
  • Setup and perform basic calibrations of measuring & test equipment and/or tests and analysis of plant components, systems, and parts.
  • Produce accurate test reports of calibrations and testing and verifies acceptability of results as required in the Constellation PowerLabs Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Support or perform customer onsite calibrations or testing that may involve regional travel.
  • Maintains and calibrates testing and analytical equipment.
  • Interact with clients and vendors on technical projects and calibrations.
  • Process vendor calibrations and conducts vendor source verifications for testing and calibration.
  • Perform corrective / routine maintenance and/or repair of PowerLabs and customer equipment.
  • Plan, support, and perform customer onsite calibrations and testing that may involve regional travel.
