About The Position

This position is responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial settings. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes and the ability to work from blueprints and specifications. The environment involves working from a field office at construction sites, potentially traveling, and dealing with project delays, weather, or emergencies. Safety is paramount, and the individual must be careful while performing onsite services.

Requirements

  • 4+ years' experience as a construction electrician (Journeyman)
  • Nebraska or reciprocal Electrical License is required.
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Reliable transportation
  • Good attendance and punctuality required
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to work from descriptions and blueprints
  • Experience and proficiency running electrical conduit with precision expertise
  • Must have layout capabilities
  • Must have a good attitude and be willing to work with other craftsmen
  • Must be hard working and have the drive and determination to complete the task at hand
  • Must be dependable and willing to complete the project at hand from start to finish

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Trade Certification in a related construction trade will be considered highly desirable.
  • A proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Building Codes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assembly, installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial settings.
  • Prepares work area for installation of equipment.
  • Installs or helps install electrical components.
  • Connects wiring and equipment as per code and job specification.
  • Operates equipment only if trained and certified to operate (e.g., powder-activated tools, JLG lifts).
  • Sets up and operates tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers, and cable vacuum systems.
  • Reads blueprints and electrical drawings and installs as specified.
  • Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances per drawings or plans.
  • Secures and locks up equipment after use.
