About The Position

The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. They must ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Additionally, they may be required to assist in troubleshooting electrical issues and implementing solutions. This role involves accomplishing electrical installation and maintenance objectives by performing tasks such as installing electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment according to local and national electrical codes. It also includes performing routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, and upgrading existing electrical systems to meet current safety and efficiency standards. The position requires strict adherence to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, identifying potential safety hazards, and taking appropriate measures to mitigate risks. The Journeyman will interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute installations, assist other electricians as needed, and coordinate with other tradespeople, contractors, and project managers to complete projects on time and within budget. This role requires infrequent overnight travel.

Requirements

• Must be able to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
• Must have Journeyman certification.
• Must have the minimum required tool set acquired within 90 days of employment.
• Must be willing and able to work in all seasons and conditions throughout the year and may be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Solid working knowledge of commercial and residential electrical systems.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment tests (background and drug screen).
• Must be able to demonstrate attention to safety.
• Must have effective time management skills.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving records to be insurable.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be willing to work extended and varied shifts as required.
• Must be able to climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel frequently and stand for long periods.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Must be able to work with heights.

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years’ experience in construction or a related field is highly desired.
