Electrical Instrumentation Technician
About The Position
At Fuji Vegetable Oil, we are looking for an experienced industrial troubleshooter who enjoys solving problems, improving equipment reliability, and helping a food-grade manufacturing facility operate safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who can diagnose electrical, controls, and instrumentation issues - not simply replace parts. As an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, you will support the electrical and instrumentation systems that keep Fuji's refinery and processing equipment operating. You will work alongside experienced maintenance professionals, troubleshoot highly automated industrial equipment, document work in SAP, and contribute to reliability and continuous-improvement efforts across the plant.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated industrial troubleshooting skills with electrical systems, PLCs, motors, VFDs, instrumentation, pneumatics, and process equipment.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a disciplined approach to diagnosing root cause.
- Ability to work the assigned 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift and support overtime as operationally needed.
- Commitment to safe work practices, LOTO, electrical safety, and reliable documentation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in food manufacturing, edible-oil refining, chemical processing, paper, power generation, or a comparable industrial process environment.
- Experience with DCS systems, SAP maintenance documentation, equipment installation, and reliability improvement work.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical distribution, industrial controls, and process equipment.
- Diagnose motors, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), and 480V equipment.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and support DCS-related operations.
- Maintain, test, and calibrate process instrumentation.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to support equipment reliability.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and related technical documentation.
- Support root cause analysis, equipment reliability improvements, installations, and upgrades.
- Use SAP to document maintenance activities, work performed, and equipment history.
- Follow NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), food-safety/GMP expectations, and all Fuji safety procedures.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and EHS to communicate equipment conditions and support safe, reliable production.
