Generally responsible for supervision and technical direction over a team of designers when functioning as a lead designer. As lead designer, responsibilities will include total delivery of the electrical and instrumentation deliverables and services on time, within performance budget and meeting quality expectations. Duties may include performing advanced design work serving as a technical specialist for a complex design assignment. This level requires extensive progressive experience in electrical and instrumentation design and involves utilization of project controls for cost, schedule and quality of projects. This work will be performed under minimal supervision. Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Identify and communicate project scope, specifications, and design criteria upon assignment to a project. Participate in development and planning meetings for assigned projects. Proactively lead and coordinate the efforts of a design staff as needed to achieve scope, schedule, and budget objectives. Coordinate design with plant and Capital Engineering SME’s from estimate through all design stages. Produce Electrical & Instrument bid/construction packages and drawings with engineering review and approval. Determine construction quantities and provide construction cost estimates. Coordinate work activities with other project team members and the Project Manager. Teachable/Trainable and willing to learn new skills Field verification, redlining, and updating of existing drawings. Updating of existing drawings utilizing redlines by others. Check project design by others/outside resources to ensure accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria and conformance to good engineering practice. Provide on-site assistance to Commissioning/Start-Up team for projects. Troubleshoot instrument issues in field
