About The Position

Dryden Fibre Canada is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer to join the Dryden Team. This role involves providing electrical and instrumentation design engineering support to the Power and Recovery and Fibreline areas of the Mill. The engineer will direct capital and maintenance projects from conceptual design to operating installation, develop detailed project scopes and budgets, prepare project approval documents and bid packages, and manage project installations in compliance with company policies. The position also requires coordinating and scheduling maintenance, engineering, procurement, construction, and repair activities.

Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering degree required, with eligibility for PEO certification.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
  • Ability to co-ordinate maintenance, engineering, and repair activities.
  • Safety-oriented mindset with the desire to enforce and follow mill safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Very good oral and written communication abilities, including technical writing, budget preparation and presentations.
  • Excellent computer skills with computer-based maintenance software (SAP), MS Office and scheduling software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a pulp mill and/or other industrial environments is an asset.
  • Ability to utilize AutoCAD and/or experience in working with PLC controls is an asset.
  • Can accurately schedule and estimate jobs and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical and instrumentation design engineering support to the Power and Recovery and Fibreline areas of the Mill.
  • Direct a variety of capital and maintenance projects from conceptual design to operating installation.
  • Develop detailed project scopes, budgets for new projects, prepare project approval documents, and project bid packages.
  • Manage installation of capital and maintenance/repair projects in compliance with all company safety, environmental, and financial policies.
  • Co-ordinate and schedule maintenance, engineering, procurement, construction, and repair activities.
