Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Delaware in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years of industrial experience in electrical engineering, maintenance, or reliability
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems and electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP and MaintainX)

Nice To Haves

  • PE Licensed in Delaware
  • Experience with aging infrastructure replacement and modernization
  • Background in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Experience leading electrical safety programs or standards updates

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for installed instrumentation and electrical infrastructure, including day-to-day instrument and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Assist operating areas in specification of replacements for obsolete equipment and drive standardization of future equipment purchases.
  • Support incident investigations and RCFAs.
  • Own and update interlock testing procedures.
  • Establish and own electrical maintenance programs, including switchgear and breaker PMs, infrared inspections, motor testing, and protective device testing.
  • Develop and execute long-term strategies for replacing and upgrading aging electrical equipment (20+ years old), including switch gear, transformers, and MCCs.
  • Lead reliability improvement efforts using root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and performance monitoring.
  • Lead site backup power strategy, including defining critical loads and evaluating cost-effective solutions such as generators and UPS systems.
  • Lead development and implementation of updated site electrical safety standards aligned with current industry practices.
  • Define requirements for PPE, voltage-rated tools, and safe work practices.
  • Establish equipment safety standards including finger-safe designs and UL-listed components.
  • Own arc flash compliance, labeling, and mitigation programs.
  • Ensure proper electrical system design, load management, and long-term distribution planning.
