About The Position

SGS is looking for an E&I Inspector for a contract for one of our client in Fort McMurray. The contract would be from August 19th until October 15th. The schedule would be as follows: Pre-Turnaround: August 19 to September 3 – 4 x 10 hr. shift Rotational cycle: 4 days on & 3 days off Turnaround: September 9 to September 29 – 6 x12 hr. shift Rotational cycle: 6 days on & 3 days off Post-Turnaround: September 30 to October 15 – 4 x 10 hr. shift Rotational cycle: 4 days on & 3 days off

Requirements

  • At least one of the following: Certified Red Seal or Journey man Electrical Quality Inspector
  • Five to ten (5 - 10) years industrial Electrical related inspection experience. Five (5) of these years should be in Quality Assurance / Quality Control at turnarounds, vendor surveillance / shop inspections
  • Industrial experience in Oil & gas / Power & Utility / Construction / Manufacturing, etc.
  • Candidate needs to be an independent contractor.
  • Candidates applying for Canadian job openings should be authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Support during the pre-turnaround, Turnaround and post-turnaround activities
  • Field verification and as-built updates required to support pre-turnaround, turnaround and post-turnaround E&I scope
  • Isolation of instrumentation loops
  • Preparation for removal of existing BAHX (Brazed Aluminum Heat Exchanger)
  • Removal of cable trays prior to BAHX replacement
  • Installation of cable trays after BAHX replacement including supply of materials and labor
  • Reinstatement of wiring after installation of new BAHX including supply of materials and labor
  • Final Reinstatement and turnover support
  • Collection & verification of documentation against ITP
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection results, including any issues found.
  • Recording inspection results and any non-conformities
  • Investigating Non-Conformities i.e. identifying causes and assisting in corrective actions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with welders, engineers, and other personnel.

Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $55 / hr. to $60 / hr. (negociable)
