About The Position

As a Skilled Trades Electrical Instructor, you will provide hands-on training and classroom instruction in electrical trade skills. You will demonstrate proper techniques, safety, and attention to detail, while coaching and inspiring future trades professionals. The position supports HBI programs that teach construction trades and entrepreneurship to youth aged 16–24 and to adults and youth in other program settings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, and/or a combination of work, education, and skills equivalent to journey-level experience in the electrical trade.
• Ability to meet Career Technical Training requirements.
• Strong coaching skills and a commitment to teaching, inspiring, and leading future trades professionals.
• Strong orientation to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Instruct program participants in trade skills using approved curriculum.
• Develop curriculum and supporting training materials as needed.
• Coordinate hands-on training activities, including on-site and community-based projects.
• Demonstrate proper use of tools and equipment, emphasizing safety.
• Assist with student recruitment, placement, and employability training as directed or as program needs require.
• Monitor, mentor, and coach students.
• Foster positive working relationships with and between funders, program partners, and other personnel.
• Participate in outreach and employer relationship development.
• Perform administrative and reporting functions as required.
• Ensure proper use, storage, and security of tools and equipment.
• Adhere to applicable safety protocols, including OSHA 10.
