About The Position

With moderate assistance, performs complete assembly and testing of standard and some special products and tasks of variety and complexity which requires a working knowledge of: oven theory, electrical theory and wiring principles, electrical and mechanical diagrams and drawings, mechanical and electrical assembly processes, as well as programming of standard controls and recorders. Performs duties as specified by work orders, blueprints and diagrams, and layouts, using a variety of hand and power tools. May accomplish tasks with one or more helpers. Work must be inspected for conformance to specifications and performed with adherence to all safety rules and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must meet objective job criteria for Electrical Installer or if outside hire, must have relevant technical experience with similar job functions which can be verified.
  • Frequently stand for prolonged periods, lifting/moving up to 40#, pulling, pushing, reaching, grasping, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, and climbing ladders. Occasional lifting/moving of product 75 #, with assistance.
  • Ability to identify colors.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of and adherence to all department and plant safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform work that meets quality specifications and production efficiencies & requirements within the classification and department.
  • Completes all required reports and associated paperwork including work in process inspection.
  • Understand and complete point to point wiring per industry standards
  • Proficiently read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and other work orders/instructions.
  • Identify, layout, and install required electrical components onto panels, enclosures, or ovens.
  • Safely operate a variety of power tools, hand tools, and lifting devices used in the assembly process.
  • Identify and select appropriate unstructured components and fasteners as may be required.
  • Complete required tasks of an assigned project/job from start to finish with moderate assistance.
  • Use measuring tools and test equipment to assure the work performed meets release documentation.
  • Understand material flow, job packets, and how to access job information.
  • Effectively utilize and fully understand test instruments such as volt, ohm, and amp meters, voltmeters, particle counters, vibration analyzers, data loggers, and other equipment, as necessary.
  • Identify, with minimal assistance, the causes of product malfunction.
  • Verify function of finished product.
  • Other duties applicable to the position, as assigned.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly according to Despatch policies.
