About The Position

Creates electrical design solutions for aircraft interiors, including wire routing, harnesses and equipment installations, ensuring Fit, Form and Function to meet customer criteria, quality standards, FAA requirements, budget and project schedules using Computer Aided Drafting/Design tools. This role involves creating electrical installation design solutions for aircraft interiors, including wire routing, harnesses, and equipment installations using Computer Aided Drafting/Design tools, ensuring Fit, Form and Function. The engineer will also create a drawing list of assigned wire and/or electrical equipment installations for project level STC, and select materials for electrical installations based on electrical requirements and materials specifications, evaluating trade-offs to best meet design objectives and working with materials suppliers and material testing when needed. The position requires ensuring electrical designs meet customer criteria, quality standards, and FAA requirements, understanding Bills of Materials, assembly concepts, and fabrication specifications, and adhering to budget and project schedules. Additionally, the role involves providing design guidance and feedback to other engineering personnel, providing liaison engineering support to resolve build and installation issues, and interfacing with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Stress, Manufacturing, and Certification. Regular attendance and full shifts are expected, along with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Aerospace or Electrical, minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to check electrical engineering drawings for Fit, Form and Function.
  • Strong Computer Aided Drafting/Design skills using AutoCAD and/or Inventor.
  • Knowledge of industry design and documentation standards.
  • Proficient in installation drawings, harness assemblies and the installation of electrical equipment.
  • Understands wire diagrams, schematics, system block diagrams and topologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Time-management and organizational skills.
  • Experience adhering to budget and project schedules.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.
  • Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to budget and project schedules.
  • Provides design guidance and feedback to other engineering personnel.
  • Provides liaison engineering support to resolve build and installation issues.
  • Interfaces with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Stress, Manufacturing, and Certification.
  • Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
