About The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector II to support the construction of a major renewable energy project in Hobbs, New Mexico. This project includes the construction of a two-unit solar farm with integrated battery storage, consisting of: Unit 1: 72 MW Solar Facility, Unit 2: 124 MW Solar Facility. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the successful execution of a large-scale renewable energy project while working alongside industry-leading construction and engineering professionals. This will be an onsite role in Hobbs, NM. You will be reporting to the Manager of the site. It is a 1-year contract role.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of electrical construction experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical inspection, construction management, or electrical project oversight.
  • Strong experience with low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience working in utility, industrial, renewable energy, or large-scale construction environments.
  • Utility-scale solar construction experience, particularly within the electrical discipline.
  • Familiarity with NEXTracker systems and solar tracking technology.
  • Experience supporting inverter installation, testing, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and oversee electrical construction activities performed by EPC contractors.
  • Verify compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
  • Provide daily field oversight and inspection of electrical installations.
  • Offer technical recommendations and guidance on electrical construction activities.
  • Resolve installation issues to support project quality and schedule goals.
  • Review electrical work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Inspect low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems and installations.
  • Oversee field electrical connections for solar panels and NEXTracker systems.
  • Verify proper installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain safety culture throughout the project site.
  • Ensure all electrical activities comply with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Serve as a safety advocate by identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
  • Partner with EPC contractors, construction managers, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Work closely with approximately 3-4 onsite construction managers and a contractor workforce that may exceed 20 personnel during peak construction phases.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide progress updates on electrical construction activities.
