About The Position
SPATCO Energy Solutions is hiring an Electrical Helper to work on a variety of construction jobs involving fueling and charging infrastructure. The role works as part of a team and may require out-of-town travel. The helper assists with electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and inspection of equipment used in the petroleum industry. The position is eligible for SPATCO’s in-house training program to develop knowledge of the construction and electrical industries.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 to 3 years working as an apprentice with an electrical company; a journeyman card is not required.
- Knowledge of electrician standards and codes.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to lift 75–100 lbs when necessary to perform duties.
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
- Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and work well with others.
Responsibilities
- Assist with assembling, installing, maintaining, and testing electrical equipment and fixtures used in the petroleum industry.
- Install conduits, pull wire, and make final connections to circuit breakers, petroleum pumps, dispensers, Point of Sale consoles, tank monitors, and petroleum lighting.
- Inspect electrical systems and components for compliance with safety requirements, codes, project specifications, and manufacturer requirements; verify proper operation.
- Advise management, customers, and employees when hazards are present and when electrical systems are safe to operate.
- Assist the estimator with material take-offs, material costs, and labor allowances.
- Follow all company procedures.
