The Electrical Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the evaluation of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for new and modernization installations, including I/O list preparation. This role involves participation in site surveys, design review meetings, site readiness meetings, and factory acceptance testing. The engineer will develop I/O lists and I/O channel allocations, and participate in site installation and commissioning. Responsibilities also include preparing and updating engineering documentation, including installation work packages, and conceptualizing control designs to present to customers during design reviews. The role requires basic and detailed engineering of DCS system control cabinets and creating loop drawings for field instrumentation. Additionally, the engineer will work with DCS and PLC hardware, understand the connectivity of third-party systems with DCS, perform heat load calculations for cabinets, and possess basic knowledge of IT networking for DCS/PLC applications. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is necessary, and the engineer will guide the design, development, and implementation of complex hardware solutions while adhering to manufacturing capabilities.
