About The Position

Merrick is looking for an Electrical Field Technician to join our Nuclear Services & Technology Team in Aiken, South Carolina. This role involves leading field operations, providing technical troubleshooting, and supporting on-site teams to resolve operational issues. The technician will translate engineering diagrams for fabricators, oversee equipment installation, testing, and maintenance, and ensure the safety of on-site equipment. Additionally, the role includes verifying contractor progress, reporting on work done, and participating in various project meetings.

Requirements

Ten (10) years of relevant experience.
Associate’s degree in engineering or related field.
Excellent problem-solving skills and industry related technical knowledge.
Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
Client projects for this position require U.S. citizenship.
Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick’s insurance carrier.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

Lead field operations and provide technical troubleshooting to identify and resolve on-site issues.
Provide technical support to on-site teams to proactively identify and resolve operational roadblocks.
Translate engineering diagrams, drawings, and documents provided by Engineers to the fabricator; answering fabricator questions if possible.
Oversee equipment installation, testing, and maintenance.
Generate and submit daily and monthly reports of work done indicating project progress.
Ensure and maintain safety of on-site equipment.
Verify contractor submission of weekly construction progress.
Engage in reporting, week-ahead, inter-team, and contract meetings to support alignment, coordination, and project objectives.
