About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. This high-impact role is responsible for leading the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for complex electrical construction projects. You will evaluate plans, specifications, and client requirements, leveraging your industry knowledge to develop competitive bids and ensure profitable project outcomes. As a senior team member, you will collaborate with leadership and mentor junior estimators to drive business growth and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating, with a strong portfolio of commercial, hospitality, or solar projects.
  • Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, McCormick, PlanSwift, or similar platforms required.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical construction methods, codes, and materials.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee accurate cost estimates for large-scale and multi-phase electrical projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Interpret construction drawings and technical documents to evaluate scope, identify potential challenges, and develop creative, cost-effective estimating strategies.
  • Develop comprehensive bid proposals and ensure timely submission to clients and GCs.
  • Solicit and analyze proposals from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Assist in budget control and project forecasting by comparing actual project costs to estimates and analyzing deviations to improve future accuracy.
  • Identify and quantify project risks and propose contingency strategies to protect margins and timelines.
  • Recommend alternative solutions and materials to reduce cost without compromising quality or performance.
  • Partner with project managers, field teams, and executives to align estimates with operational realities and labor resources.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, engineers, and other stakeholders during preconstruction.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior estimators; assist with training and development to build internal expertise.
  • Conduct post-bid reviews to identify wins/losses and continuously refine estimating processes, templates, and tools.
