Reporting directly to the Division Manager, the Electrical Estimator is responsible for full-cycle estimating — from lead qualification through turnover to operations. This role is about more than pricing drawings. It is about understanding the client’s real needs through ongoing communication, creating clarity before a job starts, identifying opportunities to add value, and protecting margin by reducing operational risk. You will play a key role in shaping our pipeline, strengthening client and vendor relationships, while continuously improving our estimating systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years commercial electrical experience
  • 2+ years estimating experience (design-assist and TI preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of CEC and local codes
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Accubid, or equivalent tools
  • Strong understanding of labor productivity and installation methods
  • Knowledge of contracts and construction conditions
  • Hold high standards for accuracy and execution
  • Think critically and anticipate risk
  • Communicate clearly and directly
  • Take ownership of results
  • Prefer structure and measurable performance
  • Want to build systems that scale

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and communicate with customers to develop clear scopes of work that are aligned with project goals and value proposition
  • Build relationships and communicate with vendors for the procurement of project materials
  • Prepare timely, accurate, detailed estimates
  • Read and interpret drawings, specs, and tender documents
  • Identify risks, gaps, and scope issues early
  • Support operations with purchasing and change order pricing
  • Ensure smooth turnover to operations
  • Maintain a live pipeline report
  • Track estimate vs. actual performance
  • Present weekly estimating updates
  • Deliver post-job variance summaries
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of our estimating systems, processes and database
