About The Position

Laketown Electric Corporation is seeking an Electrical Estimator with a positive attitude, leadership qualities, and a strong work ethic. The primary responsibilities include performing take-offs, formulating proposals, and final bidding for various construction projects such as healthcare facilities, manufacturing, restaurants, tenant improvements, schools, and commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating plan and spec projects, as well as some design-build projects. Once projects are secured, the estimator will manage client relations, scheduling, and material procurement, and will assist in transitioning projects to project managers. They will also be responsible for responding to RFIs and pricing requests.

Requirements

3-10 years of commercial electrical estimating experience
Proficiency in either McCormick or Accubid Estimating software
Background with RFIs, cost estimates, hard bids, material take-offs, and reading blueprints
Experience estimating projects in the range of $100,000 to $10+ million dollars per project on average
Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings
Ability to understand contract documents
Overwhelming understanding of general electrical design and engineering concepts

Responsibilities

Perform take-offs, formulation of proposals, and final bidding for various construction projects.
Estimate plan and spec projects, as well as some design-build projects.
Quarterback client relations, scheduling, and material procurement for acquired projects.
Assist in transitioning projects seamlessly to project managers.
Respond to RFIs and pricing requests.
