The Residential Electrical Estimator will bid new jobs and complete new estimates in a timely manner. Estimators will also be responsible for file maintenance, upkeep, and organization. This role involves preparing and managing bids for single and multi-family residential projects (typically 100+ units), requiring knowledge and understanding of residential electrical construction practices and installation according to building codes. The estimator will perform take-offs and estimation of equipment, labor, and materials according to builder’s specifications and bidding tools, and will be experienced in obtaining and evaluating material, direct labor, manufacturer equipment pricing, and subcontractor quotes. Responsibilities include writing proposals/bids, managing multiple bids simultaneously, evaluating changes through the bid process, and evaluating plans for discrepancies. The role also involves participating in contract negotiations with clients regarding scope of work and estimated quantities and values, assisting the purchasing agent in procurement of equipment to meet contracted costs, and demonstrating a sense of urgency with the ability to meet guidelines and deadlines.
